A popular religious spot Hanuman Mandir dedicated to the famous monkey God has made the area popular with women who come to get henna applied on their hands and to make purchases of bangles, trinkets and a host of other things that could bedeck a woman. The Hanuman Mandir is situated on the Baba Kharak Singh road about 250 mt. southwest of Connaught Circus. It was built most probably at the same time when the Jantar Mantar was built. It has undergone large scale renovations since then. Architecturally it is quite significant.
It is most frequented on Tuesdays, the day dedicated specially to Hanuman. This is the day when Mangal Haat (Tuesday fair) is held outside the temple. Apart from shopper and devotees it is also a good day for business for beggars who wait outside the temple to receive alms from the devotees. During the marriage seasons and on Karva Chauth day the ground outside the temple gets converted in to a huge mehandi bazaar so popular are the mehandi Wallis of this areas. Another important yet lesser known activity in this area is that is early morning flowers are sold at wholesale price. Though the market venue is across the road from the temple. It is popularly known as the Hanuman Mandir Flower Bazaar.
