Hand signals are often used by consensus decision-making bodies as a way for group members to nonverbally indicate their opinions or positions. Although the nature and meaning of individual gestures varies from group to group, there is a widely-adopted core set of hand signals. Using the following hand signals in meetings makes meetings run more smoothly and helps the facilitators spot emerging agreements.
